If you hadn’t spied it already, you may not have noticed a little button appear on the bottom left of Yesterday’s Tech earlier this year! In January, we released our loyalty program, Retro Rewards.

Retro Rewards is a gamified loyalty program that rewards you for not only making your usual purchases, but taking part in specific site related challenges. These points accrue to help you level up, but can also be used to then redeem discounts and freebies. 

To start partaking in Retro Rewards and earning Points to redeem, you need to make an account or login to your existing one on Yesterday’s Tech. Once you’ve logged in, you can begin to unlock achievements through challenges to earn your first Points, or make a purchase! The more you participate, the more Points you earn. Points expire after one month of non-use and also determine what level you’re in. We wanted Retro Rewards to be simple, straight-forward and easy to engage with. One of the first things that put us off loyalty programs as shoppers ourselves, was the effort and oftentimes lack of return on that effort that some programs have. If we were going to create our own loyalty system, we wanted to do our best to make it accessible and easy to feel rewarded, just by doing the normal things you already do when you shop. 

This also includes a simple referral system which we are still fleshing out and expanding upon. So far, referring a friend who makes a purchase will reward both you and the referee. We intend to make improvements on this! This also includes constantly improving and making changes to our levels and their perks. So far, we have four levels with the second level, Weekend Builder the first to reward customers with freebies. 

We also have some awesome plans in the works to make Retro Rewards even better! We’re always working on new challenges and achievements for customers to participate in alongside their normal shop, as well as exclusive pages for unlocking specific levels, access to pre-releases and exclusives and larger discounts for returning customers.
